Angry Bird For my birthday, my wonderful hubby got me a Wacom Bamboo Tablet, so I can draw my own images easily. In the photo above, you can see the tablet in the background. To create this card, first I did a search on youtube to find out how to draw the bird. The tutorial I used is here. Like the lady in the tutorial, I used Inkscape to draw the bird. Once I was finished with the bird, I imported it to my Silhouette Studio software, where I traced it and then set the cut lines. To create the sling shot, I used the font tool and chose the letter "Y" in Silhouette Studio, then I filled it a "wood" pattern. I created the tree using an existing file I had purchased from SIlhouette, it contained 4 leaves and some limbs. To create the trunk, I used the rectangle tool. The grass was also created using pre-purchased files from the Silhouette Online Store. I cut "Happy New Year" using vinyl. Sooo easy to put on the card! I tried to follow the first scene in the Angry Birds game - and I think it turned out alright. My goal was to draw and cut the bird, so mission accomplished! |

Cherissez chaque moment

Art notebook
Front cover
Inside front cover (with pocket)
Inside back cover (with pocket)
Back cover
I made this notebook using a cereal box and Hoot Hoot paper pack made by the Paper Studio.
The pocket folders were hand cut. The trees and owl on the inside pockets were scraps - yay!!!
I used vinyl for the words and flowers on the front cover.
Inside this notebook is probably 50 to 100 white pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
My daughter is going to spend a few days each week with my parents and I found a really cool book that teaches how to draw animals. She loves to draw and wants to be an artist when she grows up so I thought this notebook would be a perfect place for her to keep all her summer art.
My wonderful hubby used the Bind it All with Cinch brand wire to put it together. I love that he does this for me, I am always scared I will mess it up.

Fruits of the Spirit

My children attend a private school and they are having a silent auction fund raiser. As room mom, I am in charge of creating a basket for our silent auction and also an art piece for the parents to bid on.
My daughter's teacher sent me a picture of a canvas that looks like the one I created. Not sure where she got the picture from (sorry).
I taped off the blocks with painter's tape, then my 6 year old and I got to work painting.
On Friday, I went to school and got the kids to put their handprints/fingerprints on the canvas. I spent a couple of nights this week finishing up the project.
I used vinyl for the words.
I had a pear label I bought a few months ago from the Silhouette Library and I used it to create a pear for the back of the canvas. On the pear, I listed the fruits and the name of the child that created the fruit.
I am not an artist...but I think this turned out pretty cute. What do you think???

Smash Journal - From/To

Here is what I finally ended up doing with the notebook.

The paper is by DCWV and is from The Blossom Song stack. The frame on the front was on clearance and is made by Making Memories.
I cut the "E" out in vinyl.
The fabric tabs are part of the Smash Book line.
Thanks for looking ;-)

Phone Decor

I used the owl pillow box file and cut the 3D parts off the box to get the owl shape. Pretty cool, eh?

Soccer Treat Bags
The bag is a silhouette file I purchased from the SIL library. I cut clear acrylic to cover the circle, then I printed and cut a soccer ball, ran it through my Xyron and viola, a soccer treat bag. Inside are small bags of pretzels and fruit snacks.
These can hang on a door handle, how cool is that?
IF you are counting...we didn't have a number 1 or 2 for some reason???
Wish us luck, Go Scorpions!

Vacation T-Shirts

Now that my husband has told everyone he works with our vacation location...I can post this. Have you ever noticed, if you tell someone you are going to the beach, they have to know where...why is that??? Anyway...
I made these shirts for my kids. You have seen the whale shirt, but without the words. Once we decided what beach we were going to this year, I added it to my son's shirt. The orange shirt is for my daughter and she will be so surprised when she wakes in the morning. She is my biggest fan, so I know she will love it!!! Some of the vinyl used is Silhouette and some is generic...I bought it on Ebay and I really like it! It works great!
Going to have some fun in the sun!!! Later dudes!!! :-)

Child Apron

Teflon to protect material and vinyl from the heat of the iron

The end!
I used white heat set vinyl from http://www.vinylsuperstore.com/ and smooth pink heat set vinyl made by Silhouette. The apron was purchased at Hobby Lobby. I added ribbon to the two straps.
Wouldn't this make a cute dress??? If only I could sew.

Atlee's Bag

Our friends just moved back from FL, so the kids and I went to Barnes and Noble, picked up a couple of books, a stuffed animal and also included a note pad, pens and a neat glow stick as Atlee's welcome back gift. Atlee is 7 and is the most amazing kid you could ever meet...I just love her! I only had a few minutes to whip this together before we were going over to see their new house - or I would have added more to the bag.
For this project, I used heat set vinyl and my Silhouette SD.

Tweet Shirt - Revisited

I found the adhesive backed rhinestones at Hobby Lobby. They were really easy to iron on.
Can hardly wait until tomorrow when my daughter gets home from Grandma's house. I think she will be happy with the results. It will be a surprise!!!!

Chalkboard vinyl
WOW, I found sticky back chalkboard roll at Michael's tonight. I can't wait to find a project for this!!! It looks like chalkboard vinyl, I will let you know when I have had a chance to play with it.
It is 14" x 59" and cost 4.99 if I am not mistaken....(I know it was 4 something).

Shirts

When we decide what beach we are going to this summer, I plan to cut out that city and put above the top of the whale...I did this a few years ago with freezer paper and paint. The kids loved those shirts.
I hope to get some adhesive backed stones to add to my daughters shirt.
Blue and Pink are the only colors of heat set vinyl I have. I ordered 3 more colors from eBay tonight.
This was such a fun and rewarding project when I finally got the images ironed on the shirts. The kids were soooo excited.

Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day ladies, hope you have a great day!!!
Supplies:
Silhouette
Silhouette Heat Transfer Material
Brad
Ribbon
Prima flowers
I used an owl I had in my Silhouette Studio. I removed the print and just had the outline left. I add flowers for the owl's eyes and created the triangle nose by connecting 3 lines. Once it was done cutting, I ironed it onto the bag.
Next, I added the ribbon. Lastly, I added the prima flowers with a brad center.
I gave it to my Mom tonight and she loved it. She wants me to make one for her friend. Instead of an owl, she wants a horse (just the face) and she wants it to say "Facelift" because her friend was going to get a facelift but instead she bought a truck and 5th wheel. On the front of her truck, she has a tag with a horse face on it with "Facelift" on the top of the tag.

Cups + Vinyl
I made these cups for presents. The ladybug one is for my friend Audra...she loves ladybugs! The second one is for my mom...I put "Mom" on the front and a bird on the back. I read you have to use outdoor vinyl vs the indoor vinyl. So I bought 4 colors yesterday.
I have not been able to find any clear cups but I have only looked at 2 places since everything here has been closed for a week.
