Imagine - LOST!

So my Imagine was delivered today to my husband's work...but he can't find it. I think they may have delivered it to the wrong address. I am a little bummed...

We've got Spirit!!!!!

Last Saturday as we were getting prepared to watch Auburn play football, I felt like making some AU dolls. I put magnets on these guys and hung them on our refrigerator.

I hand cut the orange outline on the cheerleader uniform and the orange on her shoes. I also hand cut the stripes for the football helmet and jersey.

I cut the tiger (Aubie mascot) from the CAC cart. I added the stripes using my Copic markers.

I wish I would have remembered to black out the faces so I could use my PeachyKeen stamps for the faces...oh well next time!

Oh- and we won the game - we thought we didn't have a chance but...the boys showed up to play that night!!! Wahhooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Birthday Card

My boss sent me an email after I left work today asking if I wanted to make our Office Assistant a Birthday card...so naturally I said yes. We will let all the team members sign this card. Once everyone has signed, I will cut off the ends of the ribbon, they seem fragile, so that is why I am waiting.

The card is the first one on Wild Card Cricut Cart. I used double sided paper, wrapped some ribbon around it, stamped on the inside and added some Prima's for embellishment. Very simple!

Imagine this...

My husband just ordered the Cricut Imagine for me....so excited!!! Can hardly wait to play :-)

PrintMaster

I was playing around with PrintMaster software I bought a while back (because I am too lazy to play with my Cricut tonight). I just realized I can use the images I bought from the Lettering Delights website with this software. Wahhooo!

I am not sure I will do anything with this file but I was happy to make this discovery. I also discovered I can export my file to .jpg - that means I can easily save it to post to a website. Having a .jpg file is also important for printing.

Embellishments can be added to make this more 3D.

Tic Tac Toe

I made this tic tac toe board using the George cart and DS. The yellow part is cut at 7 inches, the pattern paper , 8 1/2 inches and the blue lines were cut at 7 inches (they were welded in DS). All are basic shapes on the George cart.

I always let my husband laminate for me...but since he was napping I thought I would go ahead and do it....argh! I messed it up!!!! I fed the correct side in first but somehow I managed to get a couple of creases. Oh well...still wanted to share.

I left the back side white so the kids can play hangman or write on the back.

I used a dry erase marker for the game.

Chore Cart

I used the Cricut Lite Chore Chart cart to make these cards. Each card is embossed and inked. My husband laminated them using PCs YourStory. Now he is going to use my Bind it All (BIA) to bind these at the top. I made these for my kids - and I plan to let them use a dry erase marked to check the oval as they have done their chores.

I know they are a little plain, but I'm a simple kind of girl. :-)

Pumpkin bag

I used DS to make this bag. The bag is from PSB cart and the pumpkin is from CAC cart. I cut the sheet of plastic that comes on the new Cricut mat to put behind the pumpkin. Transparencies work just as well. Once I cut the bag, I ran it through my CB a few times to get the front and back of the bag dry embossed. Embellish as desired...I used SU! ink to add dimension but u can't see it. (once it dried).

Originally I wanted to use this as a luminary but I realized it was not wide enough to fit a battery operated candle inside...so I plan to put some candy inside and give it to a co-worker.

Lettering Delights Layout

I made this layout using images from the Lettering Delights webpage. I need to purchase an alphabet to finish the layout, but wanted to go ahead and share. I love the colors used in this layout. What do you think?

Paisley Purse

• Paisley purse cut at 6" (in blue cardstock). I hid the flower on the front of the purse using Design Studio.
• Cut the purse again in pattern paper.
• Cut the flap out 3 times, 2 times with pattern paper and once with plain cardstock. I glued the the 2 patteren paper cuts to each other, unprinted side to unprinted side. Then I folded the top about 1/4", embossed the top of the flap, then taped it to the purse. I used the cardstock to cover the patterened paper that was showing (it was about 1/4").
• Emboss handle.
• Cut out an additional purse on patteren paper for the back (to hide all the embossing).
• Ink edges.
• Stamp a message on the inside flap.

House Warming Party

I cut the house twice at 3". The first time I used the tea box, next I cut it in cardstock. I ran the tea box cut thru my 5" Xyron and glued them together. Next I inked the edges. I cut the roof twice - both in pink cardstock. I embossed the top layer of the roof. I used the Zots to make the roof 3-D by placing the pop dots between the 2 pink roof cutouts. I put vellum behind all the windows. Ink all the edges. (I see I need to outline the dog houses on the roof. oooppss)

The house does not have a seperate cut out for the garage door but I felt it needed to be different than the rest of the house. I free handed the garage cut in pink cardstock.

I also inked the door and the edge of the card and around the background pattern paper.

All paper was bought at Hobby Lobby.

If I have enough time, I want to cut out "New home" and add it to the top left of the card.

Bridal Shower

I made this gown from the Sweethearts cart. Using DS, I created a copy of the dress and then I flipped it, welded them together...making the gown more symetrical. I added Stickles, did some embossing. I plan to cut out a saying like "tying the knot" or something like that to put on here also.

Orange Power on the Cricut MB posted some cards like this in January 2009. This is my first chance to make this design. My girl friend is getting married (second marriage) and I wanted to do something fun for her lingerie shower. The paper is specialty paper found at Hobby Lobby.

I used the heart on the George cart - welding one to the other. The hearts tips overlapped so I could fold the card. I hand cut a template for the bra and panties. For the panty template, I cut a triangle, folded it in half, and curved the side edges a bit. I used Xyron adhesive on the bra, but with this paper, it doesnt work that great. For the panties, I used E6000. I ran my ribbon thru the 1" Xyron - it works perfectly for ribbon.

The welded hearts were 6".

Now you are ready to embellish!

Cricut Lite Chore Chart

I am working on a chore chart. My 7 year old son is much like me so he thinks this is cool! During the school year, we live by an evening schedule. We have found it works great for us. Here are my first cuts from the new Cricut Lite Chore Chart.

All images are cut at 2". Each square has some embossing on it, as well as inking.

I am thinking of putting a magnet on the back of these and attaching them to a baking sheet. I have not finalized the design yet. I was so excited to get this cart - I had to start playing right away.

Happy Independence Day - so thankful for all that fight and have fought for our freedom. It's a day of HONOR!

Mermaid

My daughter is in swim lessons. She doesn't like it very much. I thought I would create a reward "chart" for her. I used the paper doll cart. I let her pick out what she wanted, a girl in a bathing suit, a mermaid...after looking at all the options, she chose the mermaid. This worked out perfect, she had already told me she wanted a Little Mermaid doll like her friend Anna...so here is my plan...

Everyday she goes to swim lessons and participates without crying and without giving me a problem leaving her with the instructor, she gets to choose an item for her mermaid. At the end of swim lessons, if she has all the pieces, she gets to go to the store and buy the Little Mermaid doll. So far she has earned the fin, the bathing suit top and the doll's hair. I have an octopus and and a crab cut out too - just a few more things to cut. (Forgot to mention, I let her pick out the paper I used.)

This has worked soooo well. She has earned a cut-out each day. She looks forward to her swim lesson and coming home to get her reward. I placed this on the fridge so she can reach it and see it easily.

Hoot 'n' Holler

I finally decided to splurge on a new Cricut Lite cart.

I made this card for my dear friend Audra. Her birthday was last week and we are going to lunch to celebrate tomorrow.

1 3/4" circle punch

Adhesive (I use Xyron) and Glue Glider Pro

First I cut the owl (3") in ivory paper. Next, I cut the body in pattern paper. Then, I cut the inside of the body (where the flower is) in a solid shimmery paper. I used my 1 3/4" circle punch to cut some of the card background paper to fill in the area behind the flower. Finally, I cut the eyes and nose (not shown in the following pic).

At this point, I assembled the owl.

Next, I used my Glue Glider Pro to add adhesive to the wings and then I added flock (not the ideal way to add adhesive for flocking by the way). I used my Copic markers to color her legs, nose and the center of her eyes. I also used my Copic markers to shadow the edges of the owl.

I used Zots to make her eyes stand out and I also used them to make the owl 3-D on the card.

Inside the card, I used a clear stamp to say "Happy Birthday".

Forever Young Purses

I cut these purses from the Forever Young Cart on a 12x12 mat using the fit to page option. Fit to page cut these purses at 5".

I used Amy Butler Sola double sided paper stack.

Inside each purse, I placed a beaded bookmark and a gift cert for BAM for my daughterh's preschool teachers. She recently advanced to the next class so this was a little "Thank you" from my daughter.

The teachers loved the bags and I even found out that her new teacher has a Cricut, Cricut Cake and Gypsy, which she has NEVER used! Anyway, everyone at school loved the purses and they drew a lot of attention. Maybe they will be inspired to scrap with me!!!

H2O Spray Bottle

I saw this bottle at Hobby Lobby and it was screaming to be decorated!!! I used Wild Card for the font and for the circles. The circles were cut at 3/4", the "H" and "O" were cut at 2" and the 2 was cut at 1".

6 year old's Sunflower Painting

This is my son's first canvas painting. His inspiration was something he drew/colored in art class. We made the green paint color by mixing the yellow and blue. :-) Thank goodness for those Glad commercials when I was growing up! haha!!!

He wrote all kinds of information on the side of the canvas, like his name and that he painted it after school.

He has been wanting to paint on canvas since I painted the owl on canvas...he didn't know I had canvas hidden in the closet for him, I was just waiting for the perfect time to pull it out and today was the day. He had so much fun and was proud of himself...Mommy was proud too!

Croc Forever Young Purse

Here is another Forver Young purse. I feel it is missing something and I just can't put my finger on it...any suggestions? I plan to put a gift card inside for my son's teacher. She has animal print stuff in the classroom, so I know she likes animal prints, hence the reason for the handle. I'm hoping something hits me before Monday!!!

I made this using a purse on the Forever Young Cart. I used Design Studio to make it as big as possible. Once I cut out the purse, I used adhesive to glue it to fabric. Once the adhesive dried, I cut the purse and then started decorating it.

I used flock on the sides of the purse to add more texture to the purse.

Still need to figure out what to do with the purse handles...any suggestions are welcomed!!!!

Alien Among Us

My son requested a robot layout for his scrapbook. This is a 2 page layout. I don't do very many layouts anymore. I like to order preprinted books from Shutterfly or Sams, but I couldn't resist his request. The robots were created a while back - I just now got around to finishing the layout.

He was excited when I finished the layout, I got 2 hugs and a kiss. He's such a sweetie...when I was scrapping at my desk earlier today, he suggested I open my Ott-lite...he had hidden a suncatcher inside for me. We bought a pack of suncatchers yesterday at HL and the kids painted them yesterday.

The paper sprockets were cut using the "font" feature of Robot44 - they were cut at 10 3/4, 7" and 5" if I am not mistaken. The circle inside the biggest sprocket is the "font" feature of Robot30.

The font is from the Robotz cart; cut at 1 1/2".

***forgot to add, I used silver brads on the sprockets - inked them with Tim Holtz Copper Metallic Alcohol Ink.

Hello Followers

Thanks to EVERYONE following my blog! Just wanted to let you know, I am a weekend scrapper. I work during the week, for a great company I will not name. In order to pick up the kids, I leave work at 2:30 each day - rush to pre-school to pick up my daughter and then on to elementary school to get my son by 3:10. In order to pick the kids up when I do, I bring my work laptop home and make up the time from home during the evening.

It is exhausting, but I wouldn't trade the time with the kids for anything. My husband is very supportive - we work as a team to make it work.

Girlie Robot

Here she is! My 4 year old and I played with the Robotz cart today. I chose the mouth, ears and antenna - she picked out the rest and showed me where to place it. We had so much fun!


We cut the robot 49 at 10". I used E6000 to glue most of it together. We also used a CB border embossing folder to create a border on the belly of this girlie robot.


I originally had green fabric covered brads for the eyes, one was plaid and the other was polka-dot, but she wanted pink and she wanted them to match. She had fun digging them out of the brad container. :-)


Oh I almost forgot to mention, we made the arms last and she asked me to make them so that they are up in the air - like she is saying "WAAAHOOO!"

She loves how it turned out...and I am thankful to have today off work to spend with her.

Scrap!

I am going to scrap today...as soon as I get 2 activity reports done for work.

I think my daughter and I will make another 3D robot, a pink one this time.

I was going to post a link to an awesome robot from the Cricut MB, but I think the board just went down...:-(

Owl Canvas

I retook this pic outside since the orignal pic I took did not show the true colors. This is so hard to photograph. The outside pic is closer to the true colors of the canvas.

Below is the original pic I took - it was night so I had to use my light box.

Jin on the Cricut MB inspired me to get the canvas out and get to painting. I used freezer paper for my template (I don't have any contact paper.) The paint is acrylic (Daler Rowney and Amsterdam).

I am not a painter. I have taken 1 paint class and I am planning to take another one in June (wahhoooo!)

Basically, I painted the background (I used a bristle brush not foam), then I cut out the template, placed it on the canvas and held down the edges as I painted. It worked out better than I ever imagined it would. It is not perfect, this is only my 2nd canvas to paint, so I am hoping to get better and better at this.

The canvas is 11x14 and the owl was cut at 10". I still need to cut out and paint the tree branch for the owl to stand on but that is not happening tonight. For some reason, I was not able to get a good pic...I am off to see if I can do better with that.

There are things I would have done differently now that it is finished but I think this was a great experience. I love painting!!!

The kids loved watching me do this today (all afternoon actually!) At 7:30pm I realized I needed pink acrylic paint - so we made a run to Hobby Lobby just before they closed. I picked the kids up a canvas as a surprise - maybe I will pull them out tomorow when the storms roll through.

Purses

I found these little bags at HL. They had iron on embroidered monogram letters also. It was soooo easy and the iron on stuff really worked!!! I bought the matching key chains. My girl-friends loved these little birthday gifts.

Owl! CAC

Create A Critter Owl card...loving this lil owl. She was cut at 2 1/2" and I used a Fiskars punch for the edge. The square was freehanded to the size of the owl. I dry embossed the square with the CB and used my SU! craft ink to ink the dry embossing and the punched edge.

What do you think if I add the robot on the end? Mom wanted a robot - but I don't know how else to incorporate into the whole scene unless I add him to the train.

Lamp is his last name...if you are wondering why "Lamp" is on the wagon train cart.

BTW...I used QuickKutz Metal sheets to add the metal to the robots body...kinda cool!


The robot was cut at 4" and the caboose cart was altered and cut using DS...so I have no idea how to compare that to a size.
